The Kewaunee Pierhead lighthouse on Lake Michigan is located near Kewaunee in Kewaunee County, Wisconsin.
In the early 1800s, Lieutenant G.J. Pendergrast, having been appointed by the Board of Navy Commissioners to select sites for lighthouse, included the following on Kewaunee River in his 1837 report: "This river is distant from the entrance of Green bay seventy-five miles, and its being the most northern point on the west shore where a harbor can be formed makes it of great consequence to lake navigation. I did not land at this place, but, from all I could learn, the river is of sufficient size to allow of its being made into a good artificial harbor."
As a designer, I try to find the little twist that sparks a connection, a wave of delight. When not otherwise occupied with developing brands, logos, packaging and trade show displays, I travel with my artist husband in search of inspiration. Many of the photos are from my home state of Wisconsin and from Spain and Peru. Wherever we go, the camera is in my hand, capturing the little things that inspire awe or make me smile. And because I love to tinker, I often play in Photoshop to create unique results.
