Artist's Description
The architecture of ancient Egypt
About Mary Machare
As a designer, I try to find the little twist that sparks a connection, a wave of delight. When not otherwise occupied with developing brands, logos, packaging and trade show displays, I travel with my artist husband in search of inspiration. Many of the photos are from my home state of Wisconsin and from Spain and Peru. Wherever we go, the camera is in my hand, capturing the little things that inspire awe or make me smile. And because I love to tinker, I often play in Photoshop to create unique results. Mary, I made this photograph my selection for discussion today in the Minimalism Group, because I really enjoy discovering rhythm in architecture, and you have captured this repeating rhythm so wonderfully in the light and shadow patterns here. Nicely discovered and composed! Voted
Mary Machare replied:
Thank you, Cheri. It is an honor to have one of the first photos submitted to be selected for discussion. Much of the credit goes to the ancient Egyptians who built their architecture with the patterns that capture light and shadow.
