Description
It was a hot day in Rome, Italy, when I ducked into this beautiful cathedral with its soaring arches and beautiful decoration. Built in 1370, this Dominican-operated church, the Santa Maria Sopra Minerva. It sits upon a site that was once a temple to the Egyptian goddess Isis, though at the time it was thought to be to the Greco-Roman goddess Minerva. Although it is considered a minor basilica, it is one of the most beautiful I have every seen, with impressive 15th century frescoes and a statue by Michelangelo.

Thank you, Aurelio, although I think the architect and builders of this cathedral should get all the credit!
