Description
This Spring I have a pair of Sandhill Cranes that leisurely stroll through my yard, and occasionally performing their elaborate mating dance. It is magnificent to watch as their wingspan is between 6 and 7 feet, and it can be a bit noisy, with the male trumpeting a single note and the female answering with two.
We live near a marsh and a river, perfect habitat for Sandhills summering in Wisconsin. In fall, they fly south, often to Florida.
