Description
"The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough."
Quote by Rabindranath Tagore, an Indian poet born May 6, 1861, died August 7, 1941.
The complete poem is entitled "I touch God in my song" from the book The Fugitive.
I touch God in my song
as the hill touches the far-away sea
with its waterfall.
The butterfly counts not months but moments,
and has time enough.
Let my love, like sunlight, surround you
and yet give you illumined freedom.
Love remains a secret even when spoken,
for only a lover truly knows that he is loved.
Emancipation from the bondage of the soil
is no freedom for thee.
In love I pay my endless debt to thee
for what thou art.

Thank you for sharing the entire poem but you captured the essence of it with your image and the quote you chose.

So very sad and yet more than that. There is an insect that comes out of an egg for one day. It mates and dies the same day. It is a Romeo and Juliet of the insect world. Lovely as can be, Mary. FAV
