Description
After the unseasonably cold spring, one 80 degree day was all it took to send flowers into bloom. Even the Scilla, which usually flower much earlier, kept their buds tightly wrapped until the warmer weather arrived.
These are some of my favorite Spring flowers because of their blue color and airy stems which make them sway in the breeze are wonderful in the garden. Bulb forming perennial herbs, they are native to woodlands and meadows, and spread over the years to form a carpet of blue and green.

Your florals are amazing, so real and life like. I can reach out and smell the pretty blooms. I bet you are a good candidate for that old motto - Have camera will travel. - V/F

Lovely image, Mary! vf! These look like the chionodoxa part of the scilla family! : )
Mary Machare replied:
Thank you, Byron. I am horrible at remembering the Latin names of the flowers, despite having a grandfather who was a botanist. So if I ever need to order more, I will know exactly what to ask for ;-)

The blue flowers are so dainty and light against the dark background and leaves. Love the flow of the design and composition, transverse, and going off the page, twinkling like the stars. v/fav
