The Upper Midwest may not have an ocean, but when you are lying under an umbrella on a wide beach that stretches as far as the eye can see, it feels like the ocean... except for the lack of salt in the air. 2016 was a long, hot summer, and in the third week of September, still warm enough to enjoy another day at the beach.
