Flamenco is often described as the intersection of Passion and Art. This expressive art form is a combination of song (cante), guitar (toque), percussive handclapping (palmas or jaleo) and dance (baile).
This art form is a mixture of the music of all the many cultures that have played important roles in Andalusia, the most important being the Arabic, Jewish, Gypsy, and Spanish Christian. During the Spanish Inquisition, under the Kingdom of Castille, many of these minorities were persecuted and either left the country, fled to the mountainous regions of Spain or were herded into "gitanerias" or ghettos. It is believed that flamenco developed from this group of persecuted people who lived as outcasts from Spanish society.

As a designer, I try to find the little twist that sparks a connection, a wave of delight.
