Description
Morning at the Metropol Parasol. This fabulous wooden structure constructed over the public market at La Encarnación square, in located the old quarter of Seville, Spain. The structure consists of six parasols in the form of giant shrooms ("Las setas" in Spanish), whose design is inspired by the vaults of the Cathedral of Seville and the ficus trees in the nearby Plaza de Cristo de Burgos.

Thank you, Marian. What is so great is they have put walkways on the top, so you can both look over the city and down through the openings.

Gosh Mary. I didn't see that on my last trip to Seville. Is this something relatively new? This is a stunning image.
Mary Machare replied:
I am not sure exactly how old it is, but perhaps about 5 years. It is amazing, and you can take an elevator to the top for wonderful views of the city. Thanks for the comment.
