Description
The Church of Saint Ildefonso in Oporto, Portugal, is located in Batalha Square. Worshipers climb stone steps to reach the blue tiled church. Approximately 11,000 azulejo tiles cover the faade of the church, which were created by artist Jorge Colao and placed in November 1932. The tiles depict scenes from the life of Saint Ildefonso and figurative imagery from the Gospels.

There are so many beautiful details to enjoy in this image, I especially like the bells in the towers and the people on the stairs that give you a sense of scale.
